Polegate marked a ve
ry special milestone this weekend as local resident Ivy Bishop celebrated her 100th birthday at Polegate Community Centre.
The celebration brought together Ivy’s family, friends and members of the wider community to honour her remarkable life and longstanding contribution to the town. The occasion was filled with warmth, laughter and fond memories as guests gathered to mark the centenary.
Among those in attendance were Polegate Mayor Cllr Dan Dunbar and Deputy Lieutenant Derek Stevens DL, who personally presented Ivy with a birthday card from His Majesty The King in recognition of her 100th birthday.
Well known for her support of numerous local groups and events, Ivy has long been a familiar and valued figure in the community. The celebration was a fitting tribute to her dedication, kindness and community spirit, and a joyful way for Polegate to come together to celebrate an extraordinary birthday.
