Free Play in Polegate
Note: Whilst the public is entitled to use the Council’s public open spaces, the Council is entitled to regulate organised sport. This includes the right of the Council to charge a fee for the use of the open space. Organised activities at the Council’s public open spaces, whether or not for payment, require the prior permission of the Town Council.
Polegate War Memorial Recreation Ground
- Open access to grass field (please note many organised sports take place on the field and use should be with caution if football or cricket are being played)

Playgroup/Nursery
Polegate Pre-School
Polegate Pre-School Playgroup is a charity lead organisation that has been running since 1964 at the Community Centre. It provides Childcare for all of Polegate. The children range from 2 to 5 years of age and the sessions run each morning Monday – Friday 9.00am – 12.45pm and Monday and Friday afternoons. They also run a Toddler group every Monday morning 9.15am-11am (term time only) £1.50 per family. Polegate School Nursery
Polegate school nursery is a school based nursery. It is open term time only, we are open the same days as Polegate School. The nursery provides childcare for 2-4year olds. For further info please go to the Polegate School website or call 01323 482404.
Willingdon School of Dancing
Willingdon School of Dancing offer a range of classes for all ages. Amogst others they teach Cecchetti Ballet, I.S.T.D Tap, Modern, Jazz and Greek. They also provide Freestyle/Disco, Limbering and Drama. They offer exams, festivals, concerts and competitions for all students.
Biannually they perform a School Show giving students a chance to perform on a large stage for family and friends.
Lessons are on Monday and Friday afternoons at the Polegate Community Centre and Saturdays at Christchurch, Seaside.
Ages from 2 years 6 months- no upper limit.

Polegate Rainbows, Brownies, and Guides
Whether your daughter wants to join Rainbows (5-7), Brownies (7-10), Guides (10-14) or Rangers (14-18), start her begin by registering her interest and finding out about units in your area.

1st Polegate Beavers,Cubs and Scouts
They offer everyday adventure and activity to hundreds of thousands of young people across the UK. The Polegate section of Beaveers, Cubs and Scouts meet on a Friday at Polegate Community Centre.
There are fun and exciting activities and opportunities in each of the five sections:
- Beavers (ages 6–8)
- Cubs (ages 8-10½)
- Scouts (ages 10½–14)
- Explorer Scouts (ages 14–18)
