Residents in Wealden are being reminded to ensure they are registered to vote ahead of the East Sussex County Council elections taking place on 7 May 2026.

The deadline to register to vote is midnight on Monday 20 April 2026. Applications can be made online at Register to vote – GOV.UK and take just five minutes to complete.

Voters have several options for casting their vote:

  • Postal vote – applications must be received by 5pm on 21 April 2026. Please note that electors with a postal vote cannot vote in person at a polling station.
  • Proxy vote – applications must be received by 5pm on 28 April 2026.
  • In person at a polling station – voters must bring an accepted form of photo ID.

Those without an accepted form of photo ID can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate by 5pm on 28 April 2026, or contact Wealden District Council for further assistance on 01323 44 33 22
