The Town Council has devised a plan with speed watch to further enhance road safety in our community. We are in the process of installing state-of-the-art moveable speed signs on the verges around Polegate.
These innovative signs serve a vital purpose – discouraging drivers from exceeding the designated speed limit of 30 mph. These signs are equipped with advanced technology that not only displays the driver’s current speed but also uses a unique visual feature to provide instant feedback. Depending on their speed, drivers will be greeted with either a happy or sad face on the sign.
By implementing this initiative, as part of our speed watch programme, we aim to create a safer environment for all residents. These signs will act as a friendly reminder to motorists to stay within the speed limit, fostering a sense of responsibility and consideration for our community’s well-being.
