As the Town Council begins considering its budget for 2027/28, we are sharing a breakdown of the draft budget to help residents understand how funding is allocated across local services, facilities and community projects.
Councillors will be considering the budget and precept at the following meetings:
Finance & Policy Committee
- 6th November 2026 at 10:00am
- First budget consideration.
Full Council Meeting
- 30th November 2026 at 7:00pm
- Further budget and precept consideration.
Residents are welcome to attend either meeting.
If you are unable to attend but would like Councillors to consider a comment or suggestion during the budget-setting process, please email admin@polegatetowncouncil.gov.uk
Any comments received will be shared with Councillors as part of their budget discussions.
Please note that the meetings in November form part of the Council’s budget-setting process. As the Council does not receive the final tax base figures from Wealden District Council until mid-December, the final budget and precept will be set in early January 2027, when the full impact on Council Tax can be determined.
For further information, please see the draft budget report attached below. Residents are encouraged to review the report for a more detailed breakdown of the Council’s proposed expenditure and budget assumptions.
