The Friends of Polegate Jubilee Nature Reserve would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part in the recent Volunteer Day on Thursday 11 June 2026, despite the persistent rain.
Volunteers dedicated their time to tidying and weeding the reserve, making another important step towards creating a welcoming and accessible natural space for the whole community to enjoy. Their enthusiasm and determination throughout the morning were a wonderful demonstration of Polegate’s strong community spirit.
Special thanks go to the volunteer teams from Chalk Farm, Jacobs, Wealden Works, Ace Landscapes, Polegate Town Council staff and the members of the public who generously supported the event. Their hard work and commitment meant that a tremendous amount was achieved despite the challenging weather conditions.
The Friends would also like to thank Cllr James Heward, who worked alongside volunteers throughout the day and showed his continued support for the project.
A special thank you is also extended to PJ Skips for generously collecting and removing the waste from the site. Their contribution played an important role in the success of the day, leaving the reserve cleaner and ready for the next stage of its development.
