Latest update on A27 East of Lewes improvement works

As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, we will be working at Polegate junction this weekend.

We are moving the traffic barrier, currently in place parallel to Grand Parade, to the other side of the road. This will happen on Saturday 13 February from 8.00pm to 6.00am and Sunday 14 February from 8.00pm to 6.00am. The A27 will be closed between Folkington Lane, High Street (A2270) and Cophall roundabout during these hours. Access to Stud Farm estate will be by traffic safety team escort. The diversion route will be via A26 and A259. The junctions of Brown Jack Avenue and Gainsborough Lane with the A27 will be resurfaced as part of these works.

Brown Jack Avenue will be open by Monday 15 February. There will be no right turn from Brown Jack Avenue onto the A27 whilst the temporary traffic management is in place.

Advance Notice:

Clancy Docwra will be carrying out essential South East Water main diversion works on the northern side of the A27 outside the Highways England maintenance depot. This will take place between 8.00pm and 6.00am overnight on Tuesday 23, Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 February 2021.
