On Friday 1st August, the Library Working Group met to discuss the next steps in the library progress.
Work to alter the space at the High Street will be looked at in committee over the coming weeks. The accessible ramp has now received planning permission and quotes are being sought for the works as well as grants. The legal paperwork is being drafted now to allow the new library to use the space and shelving heating/cooling which is climate friendly will also be looked at in tandem with the refurbishment and installation of shelving. Details on what might be needed by the CIC in terms of book storage is also being investigated.
The Town Council is also looking at the feasibility of solar on the council offices, which may in turn help with energy costs for both the offices and the library once it is there.
