We are now in another lockdown and this will be a difficult time for many of us.

Polegate Town Council continue to work with our staff working from home. Our maintenance team continue to work outside, following social distancing and safety guidelines.

Our parks remain open as do the public toilets. The outdoor gym at Wannock has had to be closed following government guidelines.  Please remember to social distance and use hand sanitiser regularly.

For those who are classed as clinically extremely vulnerable there is a useful link here in which the government gives guidance on shielding and protecting yourself during this pandemic https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-on-shielding-and-protecting-extremely-vulnerable-persons-from-covid-19/guidance-on-shielding-and-protecting-extremely-vulnerable-persons-from-covid-19

If you are not in this group, but may need help because of ill-health, isolation or access to essentials, there is a range of support available. Find out about services that can help with specific issues, like mental health support, and what to do if you can’t get food, medicines, or are lonely and isolated, on East Sussex County Council’s community support web pages.

You can access info about your local community hub via the office line, please leave your message and contact details and you will be contacted as soon as possible. The volunteer group can help with a range of different support including:

  • Supporting you with options to help you get food and essentials
  • organising a volunteer to help you with shopping for food or essentials, or collecting your prescriptions
  • putting you in touch with a local organisation or group who can help you cope with the impact of coronavirus
  • referring you to local befriending services if you are lonely or isolated and would like someone to talk to

We understand that the latest lockdown could have an impact on local businesses. If you run a business and would like some direct support there is guidance and help available via business east sussex https://southeastbusiness.org.uk/east-sussex/coronavirus-guidance-for-employers/

We can all help to control the spread of the virus by staying at home if we can, social distancing and protecting others when we do go out and following the latest government guidance.
