The Mayor of Polegate, Councillor Stephen Shing was delighted to officially open this year’s Summer Community Fête, which proved to be a tremendous success, bringing together residents, families and visitors for an enjoyable afternoon of community celebration.
Blessed with beautiful summer weather, the event attracted a fantastic turnout, with people of all ages enjoying the wide range of stalls, entertainment, activities and refreshments on offer. Throughout the day, The Mayor met with residents, volunteers, local organisations and businesses, and was pleased to hear so many positive comments about the event.
Speaking after the fête, Mayor Shing said:
“It was wonderful to see so many people coming together to celebrate our community. The weather was perfect, and everyone I spoke to told me how much they had enjoyed the day. Events like this remind us of the importance of community spirit and the value of bringing neighbours, families and friends together.”
