🚦 Exciting News! 🚦

Polegate just installed a brand new mobile speed indicator device in our town! This fantastic addition, funded by Polegate Town Council and a generous grant from the Joint Action Group, is here to help slow down traffic and keep our streets safer for everyone. 🛡️

Speed indicator devices are a proven way to encourage drivers to reduce their speed. By giving instant feedback, these devices make drivers more aware of their speed, promoting safer driving habits. This means safer roads for pedestrians, cyclists, and all residents.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this happen! Let’s all do our part to keep our community safe.

Cllr Dan Dunbar who coordinates the Polegate Speed Watch group said “the installation of the new speed indicator device (SID) will help us to achieve a safer community for our residents. Drivers often get ‘sign blind’ to permanent signs so this new device will move around the town to appropriate and approved locations for maximum impact.”

Community Speedwatch is a national initiative which aims to reduce death and injury on the roads, reduce the speed of vehicles to the speed limit, increase public awareness of inappropriate speed and to improve the quality of life for local communities.
