We have received correspondence from Network Rail regarding essential tamping work, scheduled to take place from 10:00 PM on Monday 3rd November until 5:00 AM on Wednesday 5th November.
Railway tamping is a crucial maintenance process involving the use of specialised machines to pack and stabilise the ballast beneath railway tracks. This ensures the safety and efficiency of train operations.
To minimise disruption to train services, this work will take place overnight. While some noise is unavoidable due to the nature of the equipment used, every effort will be made to reduce unnecessary disturbance. All work carried out during these hours will comply with the accepted environmental noise regulations.
Network Rail apologises for any inconvenience these essential works may cause.
