On Monday evening, Polegate Town Council held its annual meeting, and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor were elected.
Cllr Dan Dunbar was unanimously re-elected by his fellow councillors to serve as the town’s Mayor for a second term. Honorary Freeman Cllr Stephen Shing was chosen as the new Deputy Mayor.
During the meeting, Cllr Dan Dunbar expressed his gratitude to his fellow councillors for their support. “It has been a complete honour and privilege to represent my colleagues, the Town Council, and the residents of Polegate. Over the last year, I’ve attended more than seventy civic events in Polegate and across Sussex.”
Cllr Stephen Shing also shared his appreciation, saying, “Thank you to all my fellow councillors for supporting me as Deputy Mayor of Polegate. It’s an absolute privilege and honour to serve our wonderful town in this new role. Special thanks to James, the previous deputy, and those who served before me.”
The Mayor is always happy to attend local events, especially those for charity. If you’d like the Mayor to attend an event, please contact the Town Hall on 01323 488114 or email admin@polegatetowncouncil.gov.uk
