Polegate Town Council is pleased to announce the return of its popular Best Kept Garden and Best Kept Allotment competitions.

These annual awards celebrate the hard work, creativity and dedication of local gardeners and allotment holders whose efforts help enhance the appearance of our town. The judges will be looking for well-maintained, colourful and inspiring outdoor spaces.

  • Judging will take place during the week commencing 27 July 2026.
  • Winners will receive certificates presented by the Mayor of Polegate on the evening of 30 July 2026 in recognition of their achievements.

We have been notified by Centurion Traffic Management, on behalf of Network Rail, of new dates for closure of the level crossing on High street Polegate – see image below.

Access for emergency services will be maintained but regular pedestrian access will ,unfortunately, will not be maintained.
