Precept and Budget for 2026/27

Polegate Town Council has agreed the precept and budget for 2026/27, which includes an annual increase of £21.39. This sets the Band D charge at £179.89 per year, the equivalent of around £3.46 per week for all the local services we provide.

For a Band D property, this represents an increase of approximately 41 pence per week.

This small weekly contribution helps us continue delivering the services that matter most to our community, including: 

• Maintaining and improving our parks and green spaces 

• Grass Cutting across public spaces such as verges 

• Keeping our streets well-lit and safe (street lighting) 

• Managing allotments for local growers 

• Providing seasonal decorations such as our much‑loved Christmas lights and summer hanging baskets 

• Supporting a range of local amenities that enhance the quality of life in Polegate 

Every pound raised through the precept is reinvested directly into the town, enabling us to protect essential services, respond to residents' priorities, and continue improving Polegate for everyone.
