A Poignant VE Day Beacon Lighting in Polegate

Last night, we proudly marked VE Day with a special beacon lighting ceremony in Polegate.

We were honoured to welcome Deputy Lord Lieutenant Timothy Cobb DL HM Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex, who made the VE Day declaration, followed by our Mayor, Cllr Dan Dunbar Mayor of Polegate, lighting the beacon. The evening was made even more special with a rendition of I Vow to Thee, My Country.

It was a poignant occasion of reflection, remembrance, and community spirit. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event so memorable.
