Local Mayors expressed their gratitude to the wonderful volunteers who make Cuckmere Buses possible, praising the valuable service it offers to our town’s residents and those in the neighbouring areas.
Polegate Town Mayor, Cllr Dan Dunbar, took a moment to personally extend his thanks to the dedicated Cuckmere bus service volunteers during their annual social gathering. The event was graced by the presence of Cllr Paul Holbrook, Mayor of Hailsham, Cllr Olivia Honeyman, Mayor of Seaford, and Cllr John Pritchett, Chair of Willingdon, all of whom were hosted by Cuckmere Buses.
Cllr Dan Dunbar shared his delight in attending this enjoyable gathering, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging the vital role played by the volunteers who operate the community bus service for our town. Cllr Dan Dunbar said “the annual social gathering of Cuckmere Buses is always an enjoyable evening and I was pleased to be able to attend. It’s a great opportunity to thank all the volunteers involved in providing the community bus service for our community.”
Cuckmere Buses, based in Berwick and serving the community for over 45 years, maintain a fleet of 16-seater mini-buses. They operate more than 20 weekly scheduled services, requiring a significant number of shifts to transport people to their nearest shopping centres, appointments, and for leisure activities.
